Gradual color change. [29 Dec 2009|07:33pm] madradhair [lovesfear] I have naturally dark hair. My hair has been dyed at least 30 times the past 3 years and it was struggling for a while, but now it's in the best condition it's ever been. I haven't touched it with any sort of chemical since September of this year. My roots are now grown in almost 2 inches and starting a new year and a new job, I want a change. Unfortunately, the change that I want is far too drastic and I don't want it to be done overnight. I have had my hair red before. Red as in Amy Adams and Marcia Cross red, and I liked it as did everyone who came in contact with me. So that color, with a few light blonde highlights scattered around is my goal. So having dark hair, how would I go about gradually achieving this? I was thinking multiple heavy auburn highlight appointments, and then a final all over color with highlights. Pink? [29 Dec 2009|05:31pm] madradhair [becki_lee] I made this post just over a week ago. It's growing on me, but I'm still a little :/ about it. I just came across somebody getting rid of this hair dye, and I was thinking about getting it: L = Beyond the Zone bubble head pink dye R = Jazing Fushcia dye I'm a bartender. I can really do whatever I want with my hair. What do you think? Should I try adding a little in? Maybe break up the huge chunk of blonde in the front? Cover the blonde pieces all together? If you think I should go for adding some in, which of the two bottles should I use? Or do you think it'd look stupid and I should just leave it as it is?? Very open to ideas/suggestions!! I can't decide and I love opinions. I've had it long before, last year, then around May decided to chop it all off! Not a great decision. I didn't like it at all. It was about chin length. I have maybe one picture from that time, cause I didn't like it. When it got a little passed my chin, I liked it more. It's reddish, but very faded, a little less than right at my shoulders, but looks a lot shorter because I always curl it. My original cut was a Tegan and Sara look, a little mullet-ish. I enjoyed it at first, but now that it's growing out, I feel like it looks weird with the front being shorter than the back. I want to grow my hair out, so I'm not really looking to cut much of it, but a couple ideas wouldn't hurt. I'm mainly looking for styling ideas, if anyone has any. I don't have any pictures of it straightened, as I never do that anymore, so I apologize for that. I really like this style: and I feel like my hair is ALMOST long enough in the front to do it, but that takes a lot off in the back. ALSO, I'm looking for something to do with my color. I probably can't pull of blond, but I really want to. Here's a better picture of my skin tone: That's when I had brown hair, after bleaching the front part. Now it's like that, but a little more red. I really love the chocolate brown color of the last picture I posted, but I can't decide on what I want to do.   NOW, for my questions: 1. Should I just go ahead and get the a-line? Would it look okay on me? Maybe something else? 2. Color ideas? What would look best? Indecisive [28 Dec 2009|04:03pm] madradhair [_____analog] I don't think i've ever posted here, though i've certainly been lurking for the past 5 years. anyways, i used to have really short hair that i straightened every day when i was a freshman-sophomore, but i've been growing it out since my junior year. i graduated in 08, and my hair has since become disgustingly long and i think i want a change. my hair is really thin, and gets wavy when it's long. when it's short, it doesn't get wavy really, it just does this awkward flip on the ends. i don't want the lame hair i had when i was 15 anymore, but i do want short hair again, and suggestions from strangers would be greatly appreciated.
